4-year letterman in baseball, football and basketball in high school, Al spent 25 years with the Pima County Parks & Recreation Department as a Sports Supervisor. While coaching and officiating youth basketball, Little League, track & field at many schools in Tucson throughout Arizona, Al worked with many kids with behavioral problems. As outstanding pitcher, he played baseball in both amateur and professional leagues, and has devoted much of his time to developing great relations between the University of Arizona and Mexico through sports-related events. Al officiated youth basketball, Little League, and track & field at many schools in Tucson and throughout Southern Arizona. He has been an active advocate for youth sports and has been awarded many awards for his work in this area.
Al is involved in Senior Olympics, and at age 83, enjoys golf, walking and anything that pertains to sports.
