Kerri Strug

Inducted Class of 2001

Kerri graduated from Greenfields Country Day School in Tucson in 1995. She attended UCLA (1996-1998) and graduated from Stanford University in 2001. Her gymnastics abilities have earned her accolades throughout the world, including: Bronze medal world champion (1991); bronze medal Olympic games (youngest U.S. Olympian) in 1992; World Championship team (1993); silver medal World Champion (1995); gold medal Olympic Games (1996); Olympic Spirit Award, given to one female and one male (1996); Youth Foundation International Inspirational Award (1996); and Arete Award for courage in sports (1996).

After her amazing performance at the Olympics in 1996, she continued winning awards: 1997 ESPY Award for Best Performance Under Pressure; 1997 Victor Award – City of Hope – Superlative Performance and 1998 Athlete Award, Salute to Champions, to mention a few. Kerri has been active in the International Special Olympics and was Grand Marshal at the Phoenix Special Olympics. She also has coached gymnastics at UCLA and at numerous summer camps.
