Colleen Lanne Cox

Colleen Lanne Cox is from Tucson, Arizona. She graduated from Salpointe Catholic High School in 1997. Colleen swam on Salpointe teams that won four Region championships and four State Runner-up trophies. During her four years at Salpointe, Colleen won four varsity letters, 14 region titles, six state individual and relay championships and was honored with All-star, 5-A Southern, All-American and AIA Scholar Athlete.
After Salpointe, Colleen swam for the University of Texas at Austin for four years and served as team captain in 2000-01. She left college as the Big 12 and Big 12 meet record holder in the 50, 100 and 200 freestyle events.
She was the Dallas All Sports 2000-01 Big 12 Female Athlete of the Year, a four-time NCAA Champion in the 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 400 freestyle relay and 200 freestyle relay and 22-time All-American.
Colleen is a former US Open and American record holder, 2001 Long Course World Champion, 2001 Goodwill Games team silver medalist, 2002 Short Course World silver medalist, 2003 Pan Am gold and silver medalist and 2004 Olympic Silver medalist on the 4 x 100 freestyle relay in Athens, Greece. She has competed with distinction for the United States in Japan, Australia, Russia, Dominican Republic and Greece.
Colleen holds a degree in public relations. She continues to work with the Longhorn Swim Camps and is also a summer league swim coach in Austin, Texas. Colleen is married to John and they are the proud parents of sons Rowan and Rhett.
