Paul Ash

Paul Ash attended the University of Arizona from 1948-1952 and was a member of the Weightlifting Club, garnering numerous awards and championships.
Between 1948 and 1966, Paul competed as an Olympic weightlifter, had seven Medal Performances at National Championships; won two Gold Maccabiah Medals (Tel Aviv, Israel); two Gold National Medals; had numerous gold medal performances in Arizona, California, New Mexico & Texas and won many “Best Weightlifter of the Meet” awards.
Additionally, he was the USA Maccabiah Weightlifting Coach (1977, 1981) in Tel Aviv, Israel. Paul has served the Tucson sports community well. Among his many contributions: he has been the President of the Tucson Jewish Community Center; Director of the U.S. Committee Sports for Israel; Director of the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame; and co-chair of the National Jewish Hospital Annual Cure Asthma Golf Classic.
