Si Ganem

Si Ganem was a high school tennis coach of unequal success who led Tucson High School to six state championships and 112 dual meet wins in his career. In 1960, Ganem coached the Badgers to national and state championships while coaching Bill Lenoir to the national singles championship and Lenoir and Hal Lowe to the national doubles championship. Other state championships came in 1953, 1954, 1955, 1959 (national runner-up) and 1961.
In 1986, Ganem was named one of the top 10 coaches between 1912 and 1972 for all sports in a listing by the Tucson Citizen. In 2001, the Arizona Interscholastic Association named the THS boys tennis team the Team of the Century.
