Jack graduated from Palo Verde High School where he played Freshman, JV, and Varsity baseball and basketball. He attended Pima Community College, playing baseball for Rich Alday and Jim Fleming, broke some PCC records, and appeared in the 1981 Junior College World Series (5th in nation). He also attended the University of Arizona, playing under Jerry Kindall before signing a pro contract after his junior year (1983). Before turning pro, he participated in the Alaska Baseball League, leading in hitting and RBIs, and the Tucson American Legion Baseball League. While playing professional baseball, Jack was affiliated with several teams: California Angels (1983-91, 1996-97), San Diego Padres (1991), Yakult Swallows in Japan (1992-94), Tokyo Giants (1995) and the Houston Astros (1998-99). He played in the 1986 American League Playoffs (1986), and the National League Playoffs (1998-99). During his stint with the California Angels Jack hit baseball’s first broken bat home run at Yankee Stadium (1986), was named MVP in 1992 in the Japan League, and in 1993 won the Japan World Series in Game 7 with the Yakult Swallows.
Jack is involved in several community organizations including Tucson Boys & Girls Club and Little League.
